Bagh printing has its roots in Sindh, which is now a part of Pakistan. People who were the torch bearers of bagh moved from first Marawar (Rajasthan), later to Manavar (Madhya Pradesh) and then finally settled to Bagh village of Madhya Pradesh. The closeness of river Bagh in Madhya Pradesh made it easy for the artisans to wash the fabric and process the colours which is believed to be the major reason for the people practicing this print settle in Bagh.
