---------------------

Bagru hand-block printing derives its name from one of the most famous centers of hand-block printing in Rajasthan, Bagru. The Chhipa community is known for practicing this artisanal skill for over 350 years. Till date, artisans use traditional vegetable dyes to print the cloth. In indigo printing specifically, the blue color naturally comes from the indigo plant. Bagru prints usually have floral ethnic patterns and are therefore used extensively in designing women’s Indian clothing from saree to dupatta and suit material.
