Kargil cotton saree is a traditional handloom mercerised ikat cotton saree from the weavers of Nuapatna in Odisha. These sarees are the traditional craftsmanship of the 'Bandhakala', the tie-dye art as reflected in their intricate weaves. In this technique, the threads are first tie-dyed and then woven into a saree, which takes many weeks. These sarees have threads coming out on the palla and it is a sign of pure handloom saree, not a DEFECT.
